You are not a problem that needs solving.

Every man should know, if you’re comfortable and you like it, you should do it. Everyone always worries about what the girls think, what the guys think. If you like it, do it.

Women always excel men in that sort of wisdom which comes from experience. To be a woman is in itself a terrible experience.

For a long time, I thought I was ugly and disfigured. This made me shy and timid, and I often reacted to insults that were not intended.

I have some good friends of my own who happen to be gay, and when it comes to gay, straight, or whatever, I’m for anything life-affirmative. I’m for gay power, straight power, male power, female power; everybody should feel empowered without oppressing anyone who’s different.

What is a fear of living? It’s being preeminently afraid of dying. It is not doing what you came here to do, out of timidity and spinelessness. The antidote is to take full responsibility for yourself – for the time you take up and the space you occupy. If you don’t know what you’re here to do, then just do some good.

And above all things, never think that you’re not good enough yourself. A man should never think that. My belief is that in life people will take you at your own reckoning.

You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didn’t wear a veil. You know, guys like that ain’t got no manhood left anyway.

You get one life. I’m going to embrace mine.

To affect the quality of the day, that is the highest of arts.

You’re looking at a middle-class guy. I am who I am.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Your joy comes from how you think, the choices that we make in life.

No matter how bad any situation, cynicism has no positive impact. Watching the news, you might notice that cynicism and victimhood often seem to go hand-in-hand, but not for veterans.

Giving up cannot be an option.

This is a world of action, and not for moping and droning in.

Never complain. Never explain.

The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.

I’ve read the last page of the Bible. It’s all going to turn out all right.

A gender line… helps to keep women not on a pedestal, but in a cage.

Successful people will always tell you you can do something. It’s the people who have never accomplished anything who will always discourage you from trying to achieve excellent things.

I have the people behind me and the people are my strength.

With realization of one’s own potential and self-confidence in one’s ability, one can build a better world.

Life is grim, and we don’t have to be grim all the time.

I think sometimes the critics want me to beat people down, and that’s not in me. I want to lift people up.

The more you know of your history, the more liberated you are.
