When I first starting making money, when I first made my first six-digits, I was – my big thing was I went to put super unleaded in my truck for the first time.

Bottom line is, I didn’t return to Apple to make a fortune. I’ve been very lucky in my life and already have one. When I was 25, my net worth was $100 million or so. I decided then that I wasn’t going to let it ruin my life. There’s no way you could ever spend it all, and I don’t view wealth as something that validates my intelligence.

Getting rich is about fun. It’s a game, and you have to treat it that way.

With the amount of money I have, it’s difficult raising children the way I was raised.

I always try to be smart. I try to treat all the money I’m making like it’s the last time I’m going to make it.

I began playing Monopoly for real when I was 26 years old. Today, my wife and I have approximately 1,400 little green houses – each paying us monthly. You do not have to be a rocket scientist or have a Harvard degree to play Monopoly for real.

Of course, to have money is just great because you can do what you think is important to you.

Well, I think that California has had a history of always spending more money than it takes in.
