Whatever I am, it’s natural… I don’t have to pretend to be aggressive, don’t have to show the opposition that I am on the field. Being aggressive comes naturally to me, helps me perform.

Accept everything about yourself – I mean everything, You are you and that is the beginning and the end – no apologies, no regrets.

One of the lessons that I grew up with was to always stay true to yourself and never let what somebody else says distract you from your goals. And so when I hear about negative and false attacks, I really don’t invest any energy in them, because I know who I am.

Football changed my life and it gave me a platform to get out my aggression and it gave me a sense of value.

I take a lot of pride in the work I do, because people pay to see me. They’ve got to get babysitters, park their car, get popcorn and candy. I’ve got to be conscious of that.

Death and genitals are things that frighten people, and when people are frightened, they develop means of concealment and aggression. It is common sense.

If you begin to understand what you are without trying to change it, then what you are undergoes a transformation.

I have practically no private life. I’m already used to this and ready for it. Yes, sometimes it is hard, but it is the choice I made.

To me, football is so much about mental toughness, it’s digging deep, it’s doing whatever you need to do to help a team win and that comes in a lot of shapes and forms.

I know what I do for my team and what my teammates expect of me on both ends of the floor.

The essence of being human is that one does not seek perfection.

Once you get on the playing field it’s not about whether you’re liked or not liked. All that matters is to play at a high level and do whatever it takes to help your team win. That’s what it’s about.
