This is my Bible. I am what it says I am. I have what it says I have. I can do what it says I can do.

One’s only rival is one’s own potentialities. One’s only failure is failing to live up to one’s own possibilities. In this sense, every man can be a king, and must therefore be treated like a king.

He who controls others may be powerful, but he who has mastered himself is mightier still.

Men willingly believe what they wish.

I think all women go through periods where we hate this about ourselves, we don’t like that. It’s great to get to a place where you dismiss anything you’re worried about. I find flaws attractive. I find scars attractive.

To complain is always nonacceptance of what is. It invariably carries an unconscious negative charge. When you complain, you make yourself into a victim. When you speak out, you are in your power. So change the situation by taking action or by speaking out if necessary or possible; leave the situation or accept it. All else is madness.

For me, it’s about the way I carry myself and the way I treat other people. My relationship and how I feel about God and what He does for me, is something deeply personal. It’s where I came from, my family, I was brought up in a religious household and that’s very important to me.

God is on my side, and that’s all I need. I get up in the morning, I pray to God. I don’t pray to the president, the governor, the mayor, no black caucus, no this and that. I pray to God, and that’s the end of it.

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You’re on your own, and you know what you know. And you are the guy who’ll decide where to go.

If you have God on your side, everything becomes clear.

The Bible says that God has a reason for keeping us here; if He didn’t, He would take us to Heaven far sooner.

Things must be done by parties, not by persons using parties as tools.

God’s desire is that we excel.

I was in my late thirties when my eyes were opened to truth in God’s Word that showed me I wasn’t living the abundant life Jesus died for me to have. I had a very negative mindset and was miserable most of the time because of the abuse I had experienced throughout my childhood.

Let freedom reign. The sun never set on so glorious a human achievement.

The youth need to be enabled to become job generators from job seekers.

You know, God gave me a gift to do other things besides play the game of basketball.

I’ve always believed that you can think positive just as well as you can think negative.

We make the Sabbath a delight when we teach the gospel to our children.

He is dead in this world who has no belief in another.

You can have religion with spirituality. You can also have religion without spirituality.

If you’re not careful to think and speak words of faith, worry will creep in, and it will not only steal your peace and joy, it will steal your ‚today.‘ The present is the greatest gift God ever gives us. So hold on to the peace that’s yours in Christ. Don’t let it go.

Although the circumstances of our lives may seem very disengaged, with me standing here as the First Lady of the United States of America and you just getting through school, I want you to know we have very much in common. For nothing in my life ever would have predicted that I would be standing here as the first African-American First Lady.

We are inclined to believe those whom we do not know because they have never deceived us.

When you feel like it’s too hard to obey God, remember that He will never tell you to do something without giving you the grace, power and ability to do it.

For most of my life I let women do the driving and was happy to let them.

Cursing is invoking the assistance of a spirit to help you inflict suffering. Swearing on the other hand, is invoking, only the witness of a spirit to an statement you wish to make.

A vote is like a rifle; its usefulness depends upon the character of the user.

Well the protester I think is a very powerful thing. It’s basically a mechanism of democracy that, along with capitalism, scientific innovation, those things have built the modern world. And it’s wonderful that the new tools have empowered that protestor so that state secrets, bad developments are not hidden anymore.

I have the people behind me and the people are my strength.

Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.

Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.

Unwearied ceaseless effort is the price that must be paid for turning faith into a rich infallible experience.

I have as much authority as the Pope, I just don’t have as many people who believe it.

Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.

I am a Catholic.

If I were a Negro, I’d be fighting, as Martin Luther King fought, for human recognition and justice. I’d rather go down with my flag flying. If you’re weak or crippled, or you can’t speak out or fight back in some way, then people don’t hesitate to treat you badly.

Salvation and Christ’s love is a gift. You don’t earn it. You’ve got to receive that gift.

Time and money spent in helping men to do more for themselves is far better than mere giving.

I know a lot of people say they always believed they could get into F1, but I didn’t quite believe that, certainly not when I was 7 and maybe not until I was 14. It was always so far away.

Puny man can do nothing at all to help or please God Almighty, and Luck is not the hand of God.

You might say, ‚Can’t we have a more human Christianity, without the cross, without Jesus, without stripping ourselves?‘ In this way we’d become pastry-shop Christians, like a pretty cake and nice sweet things. Pretty, but not true Christians.

I serve God.

No man is free who is not master of himself.

Isn’t it amazing that we are all made in God’s image, and yet there is so much diversity among his people?

It is my own firm belief that the strength of the soul grows in proportion as you subdue the flesh.

A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything.

I believe in being an innovator.

Information, education, skills, healthcare, livelihood, financial inclusion, small and village enterprises, opportunities for women, conservation of natural resources, distributed clean energy – entirely new possibilities have emerged to change the development model.

I believe that a trusting attitude and a patient attitude go hand in hand. You see, when you let go and learn to trust God, it releases joy in your life. And when you trust God, you’re able to be more patient. Patience is not just about waiting for something… it’s about how you wait, or your attitude while waiting.

As you read or listen to God’s Word and spend time talking to Him in prayer, your spirit will eventually become stronger than your flesh.

I am a Christian, and the Bible teaches me to forgive.

If patience is worth anything, it must endure to the end of time. And a living faith will last in the midst of the blackest storm.

God is, even though the whole world deny him. Truth stands, even if there be no public support. It is self-sustained.

Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it’s always your choice.

When I had to make a decision whether or not an activity was appropriate for the Sabbath, I simply asked myself, ‚What sign do I want to give to God?‘ That question made my choices about the Sabbath day crystal clear.

It is hard for the ape to believe he descended from man.

Women must pay for everything. They do get more glory than men for comparable feats, but, they also get more notoriety when they crash.

I think that God gives you your own will and choices. I don’t believe that we’re supposed to drag ourselves through life defeated and not see God’s blessings. But you have to make the right choices and follow that still, small voice within you. Because I think that’s how God leads us.

Those convinced against their will are of the same opinion still.

I don’t think there’s anyone who would say they don’t want or need more of God’s power in their life.
