There is always inequality in life. Some men are killed in a war and some men are wounded and some men never leave the country. Life is unfair.

Change alone is unchanging.

Say there’s a white kid who lives in a nice home, goes to an all-white school, and is pretty much having everything handed to him on a platter – for him to pick up a rap tape is incredible to me, because what that’s saying is that he’s living a fantasy life of rebellion.

The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all.

I shall proceed from the simple to the complex. But in war more than in any other subject we must begin by looking at the nature of the whole; for here more than elsewhere the part and the whole must always be thought of together.

Don’t be a spectator, don’t let life pass you by.

Life has no meaning the moment you lose the illusion of being eternal.
