The wonderful news is that our Lord is a God of mercy, and He responds to repentance.

It is impossible to imagine the universe run by a wise, just and omnipotent God, but it is quite easy to imagine it run by a board of gods.

I believe that a trusting attitude and a patient attitude go hand in hand. You see, when you let go and learn to trust God, it releases joy in your life. And when you trust God, you’re able to be more patient. Patience is not just about waiting for something… it’s about how you wait, or your attitude while waiting.

But what we can do, as flawed as we are, is still see God in other people, and do our best to help them find their own grace. That’s what I strive to do, that’s what I pray to do every day.

What was God doing before the divine creation?

God is not on the side of the big battalions, but on the side of those who shoot best.

You can live your life angry, bitter, mad at somebody or even guilty, not letting go of your own mistakes, but you won’t receive the good things God has in store.

Me don’t dip on nobody’s side. Me don’t dip on the black man’s side, not the white man’s side. Me dip on God’s side, the one who create me and cause me to come from black and white.

There is nothing that wastes the body like worry, and one who has any faith in God should be ashamed to worry about anything whatsoever.

I would believe only in a God that knows how to Dance.

We like security: we like the pope to be infallible in matters of faith, and grave doctors to be so in moral questions so that we can feel reassured.

Always remember that others may hate you but those who hate you don’t win unless you hate them. And then you destroy yourself.

There is never time in the future in which we will work out our salvation. The challenge is in the moment; the time is always now.

We must not reduce the bosom of the universal church to a nest protecting our mediocrity.

It’s a curse. I ask God to take this away from me all the time. I do not like being an artist.

We must not sit still and look for miracles; up and doing, and the Lord will be with thee. Prayer and pains, through faith in Christ Jesus, will do anything.

Christians are not limited to any church.

In each soul, God loves and partly saves the whole world which that soul sums up in an incommunicable and particular way.

It’s true my father abused me and didn’t love and protect me the way he should have, and at times it seemed no one would ever help me and it would never end. But God always had a plan for my life, and He has redeemed me.

God wants to bless us where we are.

Every day is a gift from God. There’s no guarantee of tomorrow, so that tells me to see the good in this day to make the most of it.

I gave in, and admitted that God was God.

To be intimate with a married man, when my own father cheated on my mother, is not something I could forgive. I could not look at myself in the morning if I did that. I wouldn’t be attracted to a man who would cheat on his wife.

No one should fear to undertake any task in the name of our Saviour, if it is just and if the intention is purely for His holy service.

The Bible says that as Christians we don’t grieve the same way people do who have no hope of eternity and of Heaven – but we still grieve.

Society can overlook murder, adultery or swindling; it never forgives preaching of a new gospel.

Only our individual faith in freedom can keep us free.

God screens us evermore from premature ideas.

As a Christian, you forgive, and you feed the hungry and clothe the naked, and you visit the sick and comfort the lonely. If I’m a true follower of my lord and saviour Jesus Christ, I got to do the things you’re supposed to be doing.

A high station in life is earned by the gallantry with which appalling experiences are survived with grace.

To bear means to support the weight of that which is held. It is a sacred trust to bear the priesthood, which is the mighty power and authority of God.

I am not promising that God will give you everything you want. There are times when we want things that God knows would not be good for us.

And the attitude of faith is the very opposite of clinging to belief, of holding on.

Satan wants us to constantly focus on everything that is wrong with us and look at how far we still have to go. But God desires for us to rejoice in how far we have already come.

God has placed no limits to the exercise of the intellect he has given us, on this side of the grave.

God is absence. God is the solitude of man.

What I think is fair to say is that, coming out of the Republican camp, there have been efforts to suggest that perhaps I’m not who I say I am when it comes to my faith – something which I find deeply offensive, and that has been going on for a pretty long time.

We are punished by our sins, not for them.

When I had to make a decision whether or not an activity was appropriate for the Sabbath, I simply asked myself, ‚What sign do I want to give to God?‘ That question made my choices about the Sabbath day crystal clear.

The roaring thunder of the law and the fear of the terror of judgment are both used to bring us to Christ, but the final victory culminating in our salvation is won through God’s loving-kindness.

All who call on God in true faith, earnestly from the heart, will certainly be heard, and will receive what they have asked and desired.

I used to read five psalms every day – that teaches me how to get along with God. Then I read a chapter of Proverbs every day and that teaches me how to get along with my fellow man.

Each one prays to God according to his own light.

You may make some mistakes – but that doesn’t make you a sinner. You’ve got the very nature of God on the inside of you.

I would rather die than do something which I know to be a sin, or to be against God’s will.

There is always the danger that we may just do the work for the sake of the work. This is where the respect and the love and the devotion come in – that we do it to God, to Christ, and that’s why we try to do it as beautifully as possible.

We are all full of weakness and errors; let us mutually pardon each other our follies – it is the first law of nature.

Think of what you are, you Christians. You are God’s children; you are joint heirs with Christ. The ‚many mansions‘ are for you; the palms and harps of the glorified are for you. You have a share in all that Christ has and is and shall be.

Man has two great spiritual needs. One is for forgiveness. The other is for goodness.

Faith keeps many doubts in her pay. If I could not doubt, I should not believe.

I give thanks to God and to all the people in the U.K. who have supported me over the years.

You can bear your own faults, and why not a fault in your wife?

I did once seriously think of embracing the Christian faith. The gentle figure of Christ, so full of forgiveness that he taught his followers not to retaliate when abused or struck, but to turn the other cheek – I thought it was a beautiful example of the perfect man.

I’ve been praying that we might have a spiritual awakening. But I think that becomes possible as individuals surrender their lives fresh and anew to Christ.

We knew sports was important to us and our family, but there are priorities in life.Obviously, faith is foremost; how we did in school is important. If we didn’t handle that business then there were no privileges.

As we regularly spend time reading God’s Word and talking to Him in prayer, we put ourselves in position for Him to do things in our lives we could never do on our own.

Beware of the man who does not return your blow: he neither forgives you nor allows you to forgive yourself.

Our country does not believe in the concept of your God and my God. We believe that all gods are one. We have different ways of accepting Him. All ways lead to Him.

Don’t say I hate institutionalised religion – rather than saying I hate those things, which I do not, what I’m saying is that perhaps there is a way of opening more doors, rather than closing so many.
