Saving faith is an immediate relation to Christ, accepting, receiving, resting upon Him alone, for justification, sanctification, and eternal life by virtue of God’s grace.

Where love is, there God is also.

Conversion is not my intention. Changing religion is not easy. You may develop some kind of confusion or difficulties.

Our prayers should be for blessings in general, for God knows best what is good for us.

Don’t complain. The Israelites wasted forty years murmuring and complaining in the wilderness, when they could have just obeyed God and entered into their Promised Land.

Billy Graham is one of my great lifetime heroes. I think he epitomizes the essence of what a Christian leader should be. I have participated in some of his crusades a couple of times in Atlanta. I’ve seen the profound impact he’s had on me personally, and on other people who were not Christians and accepted Christ as Savior.

Faith is not something to grasp, it is a state to grow into.

We turn toward God only to obtain the impossible.

We knew sports was important to us and our family, but there are priorities in life.Obviously, faith is foremost; how we did in school is important. If we didn’t handle that business then there were no privileges.

Whatever universe a professor believes in must at any rate be a universe that lends itself to lengthy discourse. A universe definable in two sentences is something for which the professorial intellect has no use. No faith in anything of that cheap kind!

What I think is fair to say is that, coming out of the Republican camp, there have been efforts to suggest that perhaps I’m not who I say I am when it comes to my faith – something which I find deeply offensive, and that has been going on for a pretty long time.

Jesus isn’t lettin‘ you off the hook. The Scriptures don’t let you off the hook so easily… When people say, you know, ‚Good teacher‘, ‚Prophet‘, ‚Really nice guy‘ … this is not how Jesus thought of Himself.

It is a most delightful reflection that if I come to the throne of God in prayer, I may feel a thousand defects, but yet there is hope. I usually feel more dissatisfied with my prayers than with anything else I do.

Lord keep us all from sin. Teach us how to walk circumspectly; enable us to guard our minds against error of doctrine, our hearts against wrong feelings, and our lives against evil actions.

The faith that stands on authority is not faith.

We teach that God’s love for His children is infinite.

I just really believe people have to get hungry. I think maybe what we need to do, instead of trying to stuff our beliefs down people’s throats, is just pray for them to really be hungry and to see their neediness.

Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.

Those who today always look for disciplinarian solutions, those who long for an exaggerated doctrinal ‚security,‘ those who stubbornly try to recover a past that no longer exists – they have a static and inward-directed view of things. In this way, faith becomes an ideology among other ideologies.

Any God I ever felt in church I brought in with me.

Every day I pray about all I do.

The Lord can give, and the Lord can take away. I might be herding sheep next year.

Man gives you the award but God gives you the reward.

Me don’t dip on nobody’s side. Me don’t dip on the black man’s side, not the white man’s side. Me dip on God’s side, the one who create me and cause me to come from black and white.

It is impossible to reason without arriving at a Supreme Being.

When you align yourself with God’s purpose as described in the Scriptures, something special happens to your life.

Faith, there hath been many great men that have flattered the people who ne’er loved them.

Refuse to be a lazy Christian, and resist a passive, apathetic attitude.

Indeed, the Lord has not forgotten! He has blessed us and others throughout the world with the Book of Mormon.

God answers prayers, but he doesn’t always answer it your way.
