Pray, and let God worry.

How much better it would be if all could be more aware of God’s providence and love and express that gratitude to Him.

I am a Catholic because I choose to be a Catholic. And then I go to the Mass because I choose. It is out of my free will.

Uncontrolled, the hunger and thirst after God may become an obstacle, cutting off the soul from what it desires. If a man would travel far along the mystic road, he must learn to desire God intensely but in stillness, passively and yet with all his heart and mind and strength.

Religion is just mind control.

You can be rich in spirit, kindness, love and all those things that you can’t put a dollar sign on.

It is perfectly possible to live a very moral life without a belief in God, and I think it’s perfectly possible to live a life peppered with ill-doing and believe in God.

Don’t be misled by those who claim God doesn’t exist, because He does.

People make suggestions on what to say all the time. I’ll give you an example; I don’t read what’s handed to me. People say, ‚Here, here’s your speech, or here’s an idea for a speech.‘ They’re changed. Trust me.

The big message of gospel is that you don’t have to keep fighting the universe; you can stop, and the universe is quite good to you. There is a loss of ego.

Let us more and more insist on raising funds of love, of kindness, of understanding, of peace. Money will come if we seek first the Kingdom of God – the rest will be given.

Why am I here? I’m not lucky. That’s God.

God works wonders now and then; Behold a lawyer, an honest man.

He chose to honor us with His priesthood. So we honor Him by honoring His priesthood – both its power and those who bear it.

Refuse to be a lazy Christian, and resist a passive, apathetic attitude.

To surrender to ignorance and call it God has always been premature, and it remains premature today.

I was reared in the church, in the Presbyterian Church.

We are separated from God on two sides; the Fall separates us from Him, the Tree of Life separates Him from us.

Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.

You know, God gave me a gift to do other things besides play the game of basketball.

Whatever is making you so angry, it’s time for you to give it to God and get over it.

Religion is excellent stuff for keeping common people quiet.

I am not going to Heaven because I have preached to great crowds or read the Bible many times. I’m going to Heaven just like the thief on the cross who said in that last moment: ‚Lord, remember me.‘
