Now, we are selling over 5 million songs a day now. Isn’t that unbelievable? That’s 58 songs every second of every minute of every hour of every day.

I’ve made sure that in any situation and with any record label, I’m allowed to write my own music.

That little Miley Cyrus… she’s like a little Elvis. The kids love her because she’s Hannah Montana, but what people don’t realize about her is she is such a fantastic singer and songwriter. She writes songs like she’s 40 years old!

And God help Bruce Springsteen when they decide he’s no longer God… They’ll turn on him, and I hope he survives it.

Editing is now the easiest thing on earth to do, and all the things that evolved out of word processing – ‚Oh, let’s put that sentence there, let’s get rid of this‘ – have become commonplace in films and music too.

Music is really driving my whole life.

I can play a lot of different instruments adequately but nothing really well.

I don’t know anything about music. In my line you don’t have to.

A song is anything that can walk by itself.

I don’t think I’d ever make an album of just covers because I love writing my own music.

You can’t imagine parlor ballads drifting out of high-rise multi-towered buildings. That kind of music existed in a more timeless state of life.

But, I’ve always loved John Mayer and I think T-Pain is brilliant.

I became interested in folk music because I had to make it somehow.

I’m working on my life story. I’m not decided if it’s going to be a musical or a movie with music in it.

I ain’t here to argue about his facial features. Or here to convert atheists into believers. I’m just trying to say the way school need teachers the way Kathie Lee needed Regis that’s the way yall need Jesus.

I have to work really hard to get the record deal – I have to spend years at it to get good. I have to practice to be good at guitar.

I’m not resigned, but I’m realistic too. The statistics in my case are very poor. Not many people come through esophageal cancer and live to talk about it, or not for long. And the other wager is, the part of the wager, it’s a certainty you’ll have a terrible time and you may wish you were dying because it’s an awful process.

Part of what made the Macintosh great was that the people working on it were musicians, poets, and artists, and zoologists, and historians. They also happened to be the best computer scientists in the world. But if it hadn’t been computer science, these people would have been doing amazing things in other fields.

When my record comes on, you know that’s a DJ Khaled record. That’s my formula, and the people love it.
