Everybody has a purpose.

I think a big test we all face in life on a regular basis is that discouragement test. Life’s not always fair, but I believe if you keep doing the right thing, God will get you to where you are.

I have only one understanding of development and of making success, and that’s by going step by step.

I always knew that St. Jude was an amazing organization but meeting the kids and seeing how the hospital works first hand was truly beautiful. It doesn’t feel like a regular hospital all dreary and sad. It’s a colorful, beautiful, comfortable, fun place to live and the energy is wonderful.

I don’t have any stress. I’m very lucky. I live a very healthy life.

A rooster crows only when it sees the light. Put him in the dark and he’ll never crow. I have seen the light and I’m crowing.

A boy carries out suggestions more wholeheartedly when he understands their aim.

What we face may look insurmountable. But I learned something from all those years of training and competing. I learned something from all those sets and reps when I didn’t think I could lift another ounce of weight. What I learned is that we are always stronger than we know.

I’m not going to stop having problems.

The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.

It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.

Life is not a matter of holding good cards, but sometimes, playing a poor hand well.

We combat obstacles in order to get repose, and when got, the repose is insupportable.

There are phases in life which surface at times, and it makes you understand that despite you working hard, everything what you are doing is probably not enough. That’s when you need to look around, and beyond.

I don’t know what can be so dangerous about giving people hope. Causing people to have better relationships. I’m not leading them to some false God or something like that.

There may sometimes be ungenerous attempts to keep a young man down; and they will succeed, too, if he allows his mind to be diverted from its true channel to brood over the attempted injury.

When we make progress quickly, it feeds our emotions. Then, when there’s a period of waiting or we hit a plateau, we find out how committed we really are and whether we’re going to see things through to the finish or quit.

The thing to do, it seems to me, is to prepare yourself so you can be a rainbow in somebody else’s cloud. Somebody who may not look like you. May not call God the same name you call God – if they call God at all. I may not dance your dances or speak your language. But be a blessing to somebody. That’s what I think.

What we think, we become.

When you focus on being a blessing, God makes sure that you are always blessed in abundance.

The Bible says to ‚fear not,‘ but this doesn’t mean you should never feel scared. It means when you do feel fear, keep going forward and do what you are supposed to do. Or as I like to say, do it afraid.

Work aside, we come to New York for the possibility of interaction and inspiration.

Do the right thing. It will gratify some people and astonish the rest.

I do believe in self-help.

I’m always disappointed when people don’t live up to their potential. I know that a number of people look down on themselves and consequently on everybody who looks like them. But that, too, can change.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep.

As long as a man stands in his own way, everything seems to be in his way.

The truth is, somebody is always talking about you, so you have to let it go… if it’s not a part of your God-given destiny.

You drown not by falling into a river, but by staying submerged in it.

You get one life. I’m going to embrace mine.

Next to excellence is the appreciation of it.

I just kind of wake up with a new idea and new dreams every day, and I follow that dream, as they say.

The greatest story of all is Colonel Sanders. He didn’t start until he was sixty-six on a freeway bypass for his chicken shop. Anything is possible!
