I’m not sure how I’d survive without English Breakfast tea. Even in the Caribbean, I must drink 20 cups a day.

Every day is a major balancing act that I have to figure out and coordinate.

Ya know what I do almost every day? I wash. Personal hygiene is part of the package with me.

During the season, most of my time to unwind is in my car ride home. When I get home, it’s being with my kids.

Working out anchors my day.

Every day we should hear at least one little song, read one good poem, see one exquisite picture, and, if possible, speak a few sensible words.

I pray while driving. I pray while working, and while relaxing.

I believe in singing to such an extent that, if I were asked to redesign the British educational system, I would start by insisting that group singing becomes a central part of the daily routine. I believe it builds character and, more than anything else, encourages a taste for cooperation with others.

If I forget to pray, I can’t get through the day without snapping at people.

Part of my daily regime is my glucosamine and, of course, a multitude of multivitamins. Branched-chain amino acids, glutamine, of course protein. I have one protein shake a day, and that is immediately after my training.

A bachelor’s life is a fine breakfast, a flat lunch, and a miserable dinner.

I feel 80% of my life is completely normal.

I tweet in the morning and the evening. To write 12 hours a day, there is a moment when you’re really tired. It’s my relaxing time.

I’m an early riser. I get up between five and six, have coffee, and read for a couple of hours before everyone else gets up.

When I wake up, I expect things to be good. If they’re not, then I try to set about trying to make them as good as I can ‚cause I know I’m gonna have to live that day anyway. So why not try to make the most of it if you can? Some days, they pan out a little better than others, but you still gotta always just try.

Any other woman who has to go to work and pick up the kids and make dinner – that’s way harder than what I have to do.

At the end of the day, I pray for the best.

I keep a hotel room in my town, although I have a large house. And I go there at about 5:30 in the morning, and I start working. And I don’t allow anybody to come in that room. I work on yellow pads and with ballpoint pens. I keep a Bible, a thesaurus, a dictionary, and a bottle of sherry. I stay there until midday.

Every day I pray about all I do.

A good day is one where I can not just read a book, but write a review of it. Maybe today I’ll be able to do that. I get for some reason somewhat stronger when the sun starts to go down. Dusk is a good time for me. I’m crepuscular.

Devote each day to the object then in time and every evening will find something done.

I get up early in the morning, 4 o’clock, and I sit at my desk and what I do is just dream. After three or four hours, that’s enough. In the afternoon, I run.

In one day, I have times where I’m feeling great, I feel like I love my life, and then 2:30 rolls around and I’m the angriest man alive. My wife sees it.

In Puerto Rico we dance to everything.

If you calculate 15 minutes a day to shave, that is 5,000 minutes a year spent shaving.

I’ve been known to have a good step or two. I’m half Samoan, you know, and part of our culture is singing and dancing daily.

It’s really hard to guarantee things in life. I guarantee if you get up in the morning and you work out, and you work hard, you will have a better day – 100% guaranteed.
