If a man constantly aspires is he not elevated?

Coaching wouldn’t be for me. No, certainly not.

I don’t think about the end game. I’ve got lots to occupy my mind. It’s the rage that keeps me going.

Don’t be a writer; it’s a terrible way to live your life. There’s nothing to be gained from it but poverty and obscurity and solitude. So if you have a taste for all those things, which means that you really are burning to do it, then go ahead and do it. But don’t expect anything from anybody.

The reason I became 297 pounds is because that was comfortable. What was very uncomfortable was running. What was very uncomfortable was being on a diet. What was very uncomfortable was trying to face things that I didn’t want to face. And I also realized, when I was really big, I had no growth. Why? Because I was living comfortable.

A man must be big enough to admit his mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, and strong enough to correct them.

I don’t think I will ever be content. I am somebody who is always hungry.

I think a certain amount of stress in life is good. The stress of just working, which takes effort – I think it keeps you going.

He who would learn to fly one day must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance; one cannot fly into flying.

The difference between us and them, between you and success, is not that you never fail, but it’s how you recover from those failures – is that you keep getting up time and time again. You figure out what you did wrong, and then you make it right. I say that to my kids every day.

I think being able to age gracefully is a very important talent. It is too late for me.

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.

Do whatever you will, but first be such as are able to will.

Everything you are against weakens you. Everything you are for empowers you.
