I was the punk outsider who nobody messed with. I was fearless. At 16, I graduated and moved out.

Being young is a great advantage, since we see the world from a new perspective and we are not afraid to make radical changes.

I had a lot of success from the start. I never really was tested for long periods of time. I got my first professional job while I was a senior in college. I signed with the William Morris Agency before I graduated.

I am fearless.

I think fearless is having fears but jumping anyway.

My family didn’t have a lot of money, so I worked my heart out to get my degrees. But the minute I graduated, suddenly everyone was asking me, ‚Well, when are you going to get married and start having kids?‘ And the truth is I had no idea how I would balance the expected role of wife and mother with a challenging career.

I graduated from the University of Delaware with a double major in history and political science.

I myself have been on my own and utterly independent since I graduated. I haven’t belonged to any company or any system. It isn’t easy to live like this in Japan.

All my favorite artists and fashion icons and models are from the Nineties. Everybody was just so fearless.

Nothing really scares me, to be honest.
