I dream of a church that is a mother and shepherdess.

Only in our dreams are we free. The rest of the time we need wages.

When I grow up, I want to be like Balvin.

There have to be reasons that you get up in the morning and you want to live. Why do you want to live? What’s the point? What inspires you? What do you love about the future? If the future does not include being out there among the stars and being a multi-planet species, I find that incredibly depressing.

In high school I wanted to be a rock star and was in a lot of bands.

I think that is a better thing than thanksgiving: thanks-living. How is this to be done? By a general cheerfulness of manner, by an obedience to the command of Him by whose mercy we live, by a perpetual, constant delighting of ourselves in the Lord, and by a submission of our desires to His will.

My own dreams fortunately came true in this great state. I became Mr. Universe; I became a successful businessman. And even though some people say I still speak with a slight accent, I have reached the top of the acting profession.

God’s mercy and grace give me hope – for myself, and for our world.

I’m a religious woman. And I feel I have responsibility. I have no modesty at all. I’m even afraid of it – it’s a learned affectation and it’s just stuck on me like decals. Now I pray for humility because that comes from inside out.

I was mischievous. I wasn’t bad. I stole food so we could eat. My mother didn’t know. I used to tell her some man gave me $10 to sweep out the yard. I was like Robin Hood. I took from the rich and gave to the poor. Me.

A mother deserves a day off to care for a sick child or sick parent without running into hardship – and you know what, a father does, too. It’s time to do away with workplace policies that belong in a ‚Mad Men‘ episode.

All the religions of the world, while they may differ in other respects, unitedly proclaim that nothing lives in this world but Truth.

I always try to put a seed of hope into people’s hearts. I’m not there to teach them doctrine necessarily, but to let them know that God is a good God, and has a plan for their lives. Hopefully, that will restore their faith, or draw them into faith.

As apostles and prophets, we are concerned not only for our children and grandchildren but for yours as well – and for each of God’s children.

God always takes the simplest way.

But what we can do, as flawed as we are, is still see God in other people, and do our best to help them find their own grace. That’s what I strive to do, that’s what I pray to do every day.

Dream in a pragmatic way.

I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires.

You can be committed to Church but not committed to Christ, but you cannot be committed to Christ and not committed to church.

We must not reduce the bosom of the universal church to a nest protecting our mediocrity.

He who doesn’t pray to the Lord prays to the devil.

We teach that God’s love for His children is infinite.

The roots of the problems we face in the world, in our national life, and in our family and personal lives are spiritual.

I remember how my mother would bring us to chapel on Sundays… and my father used to wait outside. One of the things that I picked up from my father and my mother was the sense that religion often gets in the way of God. For me, at least, it got in the way.

To be Catholic is the only way of being fully and utterly Christian.

I have a dogmatic certainty: God is in every person’s life. God is in everyone’s life. Even if the life of a person has been a disaster, even if it is destroyed by vices, drugs or anything else – God is in this person’s life. You can – you must – try to seek God in every human life.

A man is born alone and dies alone; and he experiences the good and bad consequences of his karma alone; and he goes alone to hell or the Supreme abode.

The God of this world is riches, pleasure and pride.

The ‚soul‘ is one of the words you can use to talk about your innermost being, the essence of who you are.

Nothing is void of God, his work is everywhere his full of himself.

I always ask God to work through me and let me be a light of some kind and help in this world, so I always pray for that, and I always want to do good.

My mother made me truly appreciate women.

To be in any way a positive contribution, that’s all anybody wants to be. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to be. I wanted to be an artist, be a mother. You want to feel that in your life you’ve been of use, in whatever way that comes out.

The best way to know God is to love many things.

Every man is said to have his peculiar ambition. Whether it be true or not, I can say, for one, that I have no other so great as that of being truly esteemed of my fellow-men, by rendering myself worthy of their esteem. How far I shall succeed in gratifying this ambition is yet to be developed.

I find the whole business of religion profoundly interesting. But it does mystify me that otherwise intelligent people take it seriously.

I wake up every day inspiring myself, because God gave me life.

When I was a little girl, I always dreamed of being a star. I didn’t really know what all that meant. I didn’t know.

God doesn’t do things halfway. He goes all out! When God does something, it’s not just barely enough, mediocre or lukewarm.

The Christian life is not a constant high. I have my moments of deep discouragement. I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes, and say, ‚O God, forgive me,‘ or ‚Help me.‘

We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our education system.

If you can’t read, it’s going to be hard to realize dreams.

When a person starts to talk about their dreams, it’s as if something bubbles up from within. Their eyes brighten, their face glows, and you can feel the excitement in their words.

Right now, we don’t have a very good relation with creation.

Some people want to win races. Other people want to be President of the United States.

Religion, born of the earth’s need for the disclosing of a god, is related to and co-extensive with not the individual man, but the whole of mankind.

I have always felt it is my destiny to build a machine that would allow man to fly.

There are people in the world who have skills and strength and talent that I will never have. Never. These notions that you can ‚be whatever you want to be as long as you want it bad enough‘ are not true. They are fairy tales.

Despite the slowness, the infidelity, the errors and sins it committed and might still commit against its members, the Church, trust me, has no other meaning and goal but to live and witness Jesus.

In my dreams I hear again the crash of guns, the rattle of musketry, the strange, mournful mutter of the battlefield.

I don’t think you should spend your life praying for things, but I do believe you should thank God for what He’s given you… but I think the scripture teaches us that we can pray for our dreams, pray for the big things… he’s not a small God; this God is incredible.
