I don’t have a vast longing for the stage.

I don’t live for the accolades. I’m more so about the music. Making it, and putting it out. Those are the two best feelings.

Being a stand-up is my mission in life; it’s my passion. My ongoing goal is to simply be funny, on my own, in front of a roomful of strangers.

The last act is bloody, however pleasant all the rest of the play is: a little earth is thrown at last upon our head, and that is the end forever.

Writing is like a ‚lust,‘ or like ‚scratching when you itch.‘ Writing comes as a result of a very strong impulse, and when it does come, I, for one, must get it out.

I think one of my pursuits over the years is trying to answer the question of, ‚What else can you do with a voice other than stand in front of a microphone and sing?‘

I’ve been really fortunate to be able to do different kinds of films in different scales, different genres, different kinds of roles, and that is important to me.

I’m not a playwright.

Wrestling was like stand-up comedy for me. Every night I had a live audience of 25,000 people to win over. My goal was never to be the loudest or the craziest. It was to be the most entertaining.

I once wanted to prove myself by being a great actress. Now I want to prove that I’m a person. Then maybe I’ll be a great actress.

I was ashamed to admit I was hipped to the idea of acting. That’s why I started in with the props.

I like entertaining people. I really miss it.

Many people mistake our work for our vocation. Our vocation is the love of Jesus.

‚Leading man‘ just means people want to see you and assume that you can hold a film, carry a movie.

In business, the idea of measuring what you are doing, picking the measurements that count like customer satisfaction and performance… you thrive on that.

I always play women I would date.

I always thought about working in England because of the kind of football, the intensity of football. Liverpool was first choice.

I guess you could say it’s always been my destiny to be a performer.

Football changed my life and it gave me a platform to get out my aggression and it gave me a sense of value.

You want me to own a team and deal with these rich, spoiled stubborn athletes, and try to get them to perform? No thank you.

I write for the same reason I breathe – because if I didn’t, I would die.

It’s important to love in hip hop.

Whatever I am, it’s natural… I don’t have to pretend to be aggressive, don’t have to show the opposition that I am on the field. Being aggressive comes naturally to me, helps me perform.

I treated it like every day was my last day with a basketball.

I’m really interested in smells. I think I’d like to own a perfumery someday.

I’ve been blessed with talents to play this game and been put on a stage to impact a lot of people. I don’t want to take that for granted.

If you love something – and there are things that I love – you do want more and more and more of it, but that’s not the way to produce good work.
