All the world is full of suffering. It is also full of overcoming.

A good indignation brings out all one’s powers.

I have often been downcast but never in despair; I regard our hiding as a dangerous adventure, romantic and interesting at the same time. In my diary, I treat all the privations as amusing.

I am sure there’s going to be times when I do things wrong that no one’s going to like and everyone’s going to think I’m terrible and rubbish but I know I’m going to go through those times, and it’s just about understanding that that’s going to happen.

The only service a friend can really render is to keep up your courage by holding up to you a mirror in which you can see a noble image of yourself.

There’s many ups and downs in the fight game.

I have bad reflexes. I was once run over by a car being pushed by two guys.

Because, you know, resilience – if you think of it in terms of the Gold Rush, then you’d be pretty depressed right now because the last nugget of gold would be gone. But the good thing is, with innovation, there isn’t a last nugget. Every new thing creates two new questions and two new opportunities.

What starts the process, really, are laughs and slights and snubs when you are a kid. If your anger is deep enough and strong enough, you learn that you can change those attitudes by excellence, personal gut performance.

Freedom is what you do with what’s been done to you.

I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and… I believe in miracles.

Apparently there is nothing that cannot happen today.

The companies that work are the ones that people really care about and have a vision for the world so do something you like.

On every front there are clear answers out there that can make this country stronger, but we’re going to break through the fear and the frustration people are feeling. Our job is to make sure that even as we make progress, that we are also giving people a sense of hope and vision for the future.

My favorite affirmation when I feel stuck or out of sorts is: Whatever I need is already here, and it is all for my highest good. Jot this down and post it conspicuously throughout your home, on the dashboard of your car, at your office, on your microwave oven, and even in front of your toilets!

Good luck has its storms.

Cowards die many times before their actual deaths.

Even if you have a terminal disease, you don’t have to sit down and mope. Enjoy life and challenge the illness that you have.

I’ve learned never to say never.

Be willing to have it so. Acceptance of what has happened is the first step to overcoming the consequences of any misfortune.

We have the power to make this the best generation of mankind in the history of the world or to make it the last.

Do the best you can, and don’t take life too serious.

I have quite a decent constitution in spite of all my abuse of it and my advanced years. I’m still quite robust.

I don’t have any stress. I’m very lucky. I live a very healthy life.

Right now, when we’re hearing so much disturbing and hateful rhetoric, it is so important to remember that our diversity has been – and will always be – our greatest source of strength and pride here in the United States.

Never be ashamed! There’s some who’ll hold it against you, but they’re not worth bothering with.
