Acting is happy agony.

Emotions are continually affecting our thought processes and decisions, below the level of our awareness. And the most common emotion of them all is the desire for pleasure and the avoidance of pain.

In the egoic state, your sense of self, your identity, is derived from your thinking mind – in other words, what your mind tells you about yourself: the storyline of you, the memories, the expectations, all the thoughts that go through your head continuously and the emotions that reflect those thoughts. All those things make up your sense of self.

Act well your part, there all the honour lies.

I’m an emotional person. Sometimes I can’t help it.

Love is only one of many passions.

It is impossible for you to be angry and laugh at the same time. Anger and laughter are mutually exclusive and you have the power to choose either.

There is a boundary to men’s passions when they act from feelings; but none when they are under the influence of imagination.

I seem to be getting a lot of things pushed my way that are strong women. It’s like people see Hackers and they send me offers to play tough women with guns, the kind who wear no bra and a little tank top. I’d like to play strong women who are also very feminine.

I had a lovers quarrel with the world.

There are women who can make you feel more with their bodies and their souls, but these are the exact women who will turn the knife into you right in front of the crowd. Of course, I expect this, but the knife still cuts.

To be loved is very demoralizing.

I don’t know, I feel desperate when I sing. And I look desperate – it feels like I’m singing for my life, which makes me twitch, if that makes sense.

My body is quite tiny, but a lot of the emotions I feel are pretty explosive. They have to come out.

You will never know the feeling of a driver when winning a race. The helmet hides feelings that cannot be understood.

Waking up every day and loving someone who may or may not love us back, whose safety we can’t ensure, who may stay in our lives or may leave without a moment’s notice, who may be loyal to the day they die or betray us tomorrow – that’s vulnerability.

I’m proud to be an actor. See, as an actor, you live longer. Football players, the brain and all that stuff, ooh-eee, that’s not good.

Is it not strange that desire should so many years outlive performance?

The true measure of the value of any business leader and manager is performance.

Sometimes in the past when I played something might make me lose focus, or I would go home after a game where I thought I could have played better and I would let it hang over my head for a long time when it shouldn’t.

If you want to make someone feel emotion, you have to make them let go. Listening to something is an act of surrender.

Mine is only one of the millions of hearts broken over the death of Whitney Houston, I will always be grateful and in awe of the wonderful performance she did on my song, and I can truly say from the bottom of my heart, ‚Whitney, I will always love you. You will be missed.‘

Not to expose your true feelings to an adult seems to be instinctive from the age of seven or eight onwards.

It’s very rare that you get a director that lets you be creative and bring what you feel your character should do or should be.

I live halfway between reality and theater at all times. And I was born this way.

Acting is just a way of making a living, the family is life.
